Operation Guardians of the Land returns in 2026 for its fifth edition.

At the heart of the Guardians initiative lies a deep commitment to serving local communities and the places they call home. The aim is to show the tangible, positive difference that hunters — organised through their local associations — can make to the towns and territories around them, today and in the future.
Any initiative is welcome, as long as it serves a community or charitable purpose. Think beyond woodland clean-ups and trail restoration: the project embraces everything that hunting clubs do to give back to their communities — from wildfire watch programmes to environmental education for children.
If your initiative takes place in Italy and makes a difference where you live, sign up here.
2025 Edition: Results

As “Guardians of the territory,” hunters are recognised as key figures in building a more sustainable model of hunting — one rooted in ethics and responsibility, capable of protecting biodiversity and becoming a genuine, valued part of local community life.

Since its launch in 2020, the Guardians of the terrotory has been active the length and breadth of Italy, making a real difference for over 4 million people.
This year, we have opened a dedicated channel for citizens to request our involvement directly. If you think your area could benefit from the Guardians of the Land, let us know. Fondazione UNA will review your request and, where appropriate, mobilise local volunteer hunters.
